End of this School Year
As we come to the end of another wonderful year at preschool, it’s hard to believe how much the children have grown and learned. From those first days of settling in, to the confidence and independence we see now, it has been a joy to watch each child develop in their own unique way. This year has been filled with laughter, creativity, friendships, and so many meaningful moments—both big and small.
We’ve explored new ideas, built strong relationships, and created lasting memories together through play, storytelling, art, and discovery. The children have shown curiosity, kindness, and resilience, and we are so proud of all they have accomplished.
To our families, thank you for your continued support, trust, and involvement throughout the year. Being part of your child’s early learning journey is truly a privilege.
We wish all of our families a safe, happy, and restful summer. To those moving on, we send you off with our warmest wishes for continued growth and success—and to those returning, we look forward to another exciting year ahead!
RESOURCE ROOM - MARION
As we come to the end of another school year, I would like to acknowledge the teaching staff here at St. Catherine’s.
Danielle, Karen and Vibha, who have nurtured our little ones from start to finish with positive guidance in the Rainbow Room.
Karen, who brings some children over from the Rainbow Room at 1:30 to the Treehouse Room, where they finish their day with outdoor/gym time before heading home.
Gabi, Mary and Catriona, who challenged our 4s in the Treehouse Room and encouraged them to be self-confident and independent. They are ready to head off to Kindergarten.
Monica and Marjan, who worked throughout the year with all the children in both classrooms. They provided extra care during our busy lunch hours and enjoyed sharing stories and songs.
My position as Resource Educator/Director has always been very rewarding. I love sharing the office with Tina and we, as a team, seem to come up with creative ideas which make St. Catherine’s a great place to work and play.
A special thank you, also to our Board of Directors for all their support and guidance throughout the year.
Wishing everyone a fantastic Summer and I never say,“ Good-Bye”, as I will most likely see you in the Village.
Special Year-End Dates!
The LAST DAY OF PRESCHOOL and the Treehouse Graduation on Friday, June 19th, and our fun Annual Picnic at Mahon Park on Wednesday, June 24th from 11:30 – 1:30 (rain or shine)!
YEAR END PICNIC
School may be over, but we have one more special preschool activity to look forward to — our year-end picnic at Mahon Park on Wednesday, June 24th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Families are invited to come and enjoy this final chance to say goodbye to friends and teachers before summer begins. RAIN OR SHINE!!
Mahon Park is a spray park, so please remember to bring sunscreen and bathing suits. We also invite families to pack a picnic lunch and bring a blanket so you can relax and enjoy the afternoon together. Marion will also be doing her famous Candy Toss, which is always a favourite and lots of fun for the children.
Dear Treehouse Families,
It’s hard to believe that another wonderful school year is coming to an end! As we reflect on the past months, we are so proud of how much the children have learned, grown, and enjoyed their time together. It has been a year filled with curiosity, creativity, friendship, and fun.
Earlier this season, our classroom was transformed into an exciting Sea Life and Pirate adventure. The children explored different sea creatures through stories, art projects, games, and hands-on activities. During our pirate-themed week, the classroom featured pirate ships, costumes, treasure-themed toys, and a dramatic play area where the children enjoyed using their imaginations and creating their own adventures.
To celebrate Father’s Day, the children worked very hard on special gifts for their families. They created beautiful picture frames, thoughtful cards, and shared their answers to fun interview questions about their dads. We hope these heartfelt creations brought joy to your families and showed just how much the children love and appreciate their fathers.
We have also completed our Echo Classroom Rotation. Every child had the opportunity to take Echo home and share their experiences with the class. Thank you for your participation and support. The children always looked forward to hearing about each other’s adventures, making this activity a meaningful part of our classroom community.
With the arrival of warm, sunny weather, we enjoyed spending more time outdoors. The children had opportunities to go on neighbourhood walks and visit local parks, where they could explore, play, and enjoy nature together.
As we approach the final week of school, we are excitedly preparing for our Graduation Celebration on Friday, June 19. This special event will recognize the children’s achievements and celebrate all of the wonderful memories made throughout the year. We warmly invite all families to join us for this important occasion. A sign-up sheet for treats and supplies will be available in the pick-up and drop-off area.
Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and partnership throughout the year. It has been a pleasure watching your children grow and thrive.

Dear Rainbow Room Families,
June may have been a short month, but we packed in as much fun as we could before the end of the year!
We spent our days playing together, reading stories, singing songs, creating art, and enjoying time with our friends. The children especially enjoyed watching a short movie featuring Eric Carle. We explored Karen’s favorite stories by Eric Carle and Danielle’s favorite books from the Pete the Cat series.
The children also worked hard to finish their Father’s Day gifts. They put a lot of care and effort into their creations, and we hope you enjoyed receiving them as much as the children enjoyed making them.
As we say goodbye to another wonderful year together, we would like to thank all of our Rainbow Room families for your support. It has been a pleasure watching the children learn, grow, and make memories throughout the year.
We wish all of our families a warm goodbye and hope your summer is filled with adventures, laughter, and special moments together. Have a safe and happy summer!
